The latest mobile OS by Apple comes with a much demanded feature of wireless printing. However, there is one setback; it will only print from the printers which have been labeled as “AirPrint-compatible”. Since, not everyone own the wireless printer, the problem doesn’t seem to fade away even with new iphone OS.

AirPrint Activator v1.0 offers a solution for Macs to set up wireless printing with iOS 4.2 with any printer shared on your network. You will require the following:

1) Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.5

2) iTunes 10.1

3) iOS 4.2.1 on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad

4) AirPrint Activator [.zip]

The procedure to set up the software on MAC is as follows:

1. Launch AirPrint Activator application.

2. Click on the toggle switch and the status will change to ‘Activated’.

3. Enter the password for admin.

iPhone 4G features in detail:

1. Design:

• iPhone 4G is 9.3mm thick and 24% thinner than iPhone 3GS.
• On the top the iPhone 4G has a 3.5mm headset jack, secondary mic and the sleepwake up button.
• At the bottom the iPhone 4 has a primary mic,speaker and a 30-pin connector port.
• Volume control on the sides.
• If you look at the above image, design wise, the iPhone 4G model has a box like structure and has dropped the rounded hind’s design (which previous generation had).
• This time Apple has used stainless steel rims for binding the body of iPhone 4.
• The rims of the iPhone 4 act as bonding agents to hold the two glass panels on the front and back of the iPhone 4.
• The rims also have integrated antennas.

2. Display:

• iPhone 4 debuts a new display “retina Display”.
• It is 3.5 inch multi touch display which offers 960×640 pixel resolution at 326 pixels per inch.
• With this you’ll have more amazing graphics display while playing games.
• The IPS technology based panel offer 800:1 contrast ratio which is 4x times better than previous iPhone devices.
• The front and back panel will come coated with fingerprints resistance oleo-phobic coating

With all these features, you’ll be able to watch comfortably 720p HD movies on 960×640 pixel display with more accurate colors.

3. Processor:

To conserve power to add up to the battery life Apple has used the same A4 System-on-Chip processor on iPhone 4 as earlier used in Apple’s iPad.

4. Camera:

The camera in iPhone 4 has some awesome features:

• Apple has added a 5 megapixel sensor with backside illuminated sensor and LED Flash.
• 5x digital zoom and tap to focus option
• The 5 megapixel camera comes with the capability of recording 720p HD video at 30 frames per second.
• The LED Flash will stay illuminated for recording better quality picture in videos.

• iPhone 4, has a front camera with which you can video call known as “Face Time”, and work even when the Wi-fi is turned off.
• “Face Time” works out of box and does not need any setup or installation.
• The “Face time” has been built using some open standards like SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), H.264, AAC and so on.
• In iPhone 4 Apple has introduced new iMovie for video editing (which will include options like scene trasitions,themes, editable titles etc)
• The iMovie app will be available for $5, but after the launch of iOS4 on June 21.

5. Gyroscope:

Another feature introduced by Apple in iPhone 4 is “three-axis gyroscope”( a devise maintaining orientation or measuring it, based on the rotation mechanism of the object).

• The “Three-axis gyroscope” is attached with Accelerometer, which make iPhone 4 capable of 6-axis motion sensing.

This feature is similar to that used in Sony PlayStation 3’s game controller which has gyroscope motion sensing.

6. Battery life:

In previous generations of iPhone the major issue that concerned Apple was of battery life, but fortunately this issue has been resolved and the new generation iPhone 4 comes up with a larger battery. This large battery is lithium-ion rechargeable and offers:

• up-to 7 hours talk time on 3G network
• 14 hours of talk time on 2G network
• Listen up-to 40 hours of music
• 10 hours of video watch

The most amazing thing in it is that now users can browse mobile web for up-to 10 hours.

7. Bumpers:

As the outer rims of iPhone 4 will be working as antenna system, so for that reason no other outer casing can be used. So Apple has come out with its own set of cases for iPhone 4 know as “Bumpers”. Bumpers are made by molded plastic and rubber, which will keep the antenna system as well as glass panels safe. They will be available in different colors like White, Black, Green, Blue, Orange and Pink.

The procedure is very much same as of iphone/iPod Touch. You just need to get the ECID of your devises. Run your Firmware Umbrella (Mac/Windows), then enter ECID, then select your device version, and then choose Saurik-Cydia from drop down, then submit it.

Update for iPhone 3GS :

Until Dev team update Pwnage Tool or Redsn0w tool we recommend you to carry on with OS 3.1.3. The problem is that Apple has stopped signing 3.1.3 restore files, and so you cannot restore firmware other than 3.1.3 if you have iPhone 3GS. But if in any case you have already saved SHSH files on Saurik server through Cydia, to downgrade iPhone 2G and 3G follow the instructions bellow.

How to downgrade iPhone 2G and 3G:

Step 1:

First make sure you have latest iTune installed in your computer.

Step 2:

Now next thing is to turn your iPhone 2G/3G in DFU mode

• Connect iPhone with your computer
• Turn off your iPhone
• Then for exactly 10 seconds hold “Power” and “Home” together.
• Hold on to the home and release the power button until the computer beeps, it will recognize the USB device.
• The iTunes will detect your iPhone after few seconds.
• Now if you see the Restore Logo on the screen it means that you are in a recovery mode and not DFU.

Step 3:

Wait until your iPhone is in DFU mode, then a message will appear in iTunes;

• Click on “OK”
• Hold Option key while clicking Restore in iTunes
• Browse OS 3.0 firmware for iPhone 3GS.
• It will take about 10-15 minutes to restore.

Step 4:

You may come across certain errors like 1011, 1013, 1015, you don’t need to worry about them because the firmware 3.0 is already successfully installed, so you just need to ignore them. Now you can launch Redsn0w and jailbreak and unlock your iPhone. But if errors like 1600, 1601, 1602 occur or any other errors simply put your iPhone again into DFU mode and repeat the above procedure again.

Through this process you can preserve your important SHSH blobs forever on your PC/Mac. For that you need to have your data saved on Saurik server, you just need to hit the make my life easier button on Cydia’s home page and you’ll be able to save your SHSH forever, if by you have already saved your SHSH on Saurik you don’t need to repeat the process. If in any case Apple releases a patch for an exploit in 3.1.3 tomorrow and you lost all your SHSH because you couldn’t saved it, with this process you’ll be able to save SHSH before time.

How to save your SHSH in Windows:

• First of all you need to get ECID grabber. Download ECID grabber
• Now what you need to do is to keep you iPhone in restore mood, which is “connect to iTune screen”.
• Now run the ECID grabber, copy down and save the ECID number.
• Now get the firmware umbrella. Download thefirmwareumbrella
• Now open umbrella.exe
• Select Saurik, this will request the SHSH signature from Apple.
• Save it to your PC and put a copy of it in Saurik’s server.
• You need to make sure that the host file is not pointing to Saurik’s server; else you won’t be able to get the certificate if it’s not available in Cydia.
• Now select iPhone 3GS 3.1.3, run it.

How to save your SHSH in Mac:

• First of all get ECID grabber. Download ECID grabber for iPhone 3GS 3.1.3
• Now get the firmware umbrella, then move its app out of the .dmg file and copy it on your desktop. Download thefirmwareumbrella
• Now open umbrella.exe
• Select Saurik, this will request the SHSH signature from Apple.
• Save it to your PC and put a copy of it in Saurik’s server.
• You need to make sure that the host file is not pointing to Saurik’s server; else you won’t be able to get the certificate if it’s not available in Cydia.
• Now select iPhone 3GS 3.1.3, run it.
• It will automatically save your SHSH copy with the umbrella.exe file in same directory, copy it and rejoice now you have your 64kb gold in your hand.

All of the process can be done if you have 3.1.2 or older signature file, but they should be already stored in Cydia, anf for that you just need to select the right option in umbrella. And another thing that you have to check and make sure of, is that gs.apple.com in your host file is pointing to Saurik’s server.
