Here is good news for Windows 7 users; Microsoft has introduced two new user experiences “Aero Shake” and “Aero Peek”. These features will satisfy the Windows users, who demanded flashier graphical user interface after the launch of Windows Aero GUI, and for interaction want Natural User Interface (NUI) model.

With Aero Shake you can quickly and instantly minimize all the non-active open windows by just shaking the application window and fives the power in your hand. When you want to bring the Desktop back to its previous state you just need to shake the windows again. To use Aero Shake for minimizing all inactive windows to taskbar you need to:

Just Click and Hold on the window’s title bar (that you want to work on).

Then move the window to left and right shaking it a few times.

This is one of the feature which supports movement of mouse.

For more on how Aero Shake works see the demo bellow:

Another technology by Windows 7 is “Aero Peek” a Superbar thumbnail preview; it allows users to quickly preview the Desktop by just using the mouse to hover over the absolutely right end of the taskbar, making all active and inactive windows transparent. It also support full screen view preview on desktop, by hovering the mouse over the taskbar button of any open window and making the other open windows temporarily hidden. With this a new graphical thumbnail appears, and the windows can be preview in a small glass frame. “Aero Peek” also allows users to pin program permanently to Taskbar, this will make a mini-Start Menus where all the pinned items or most common destination and most common task are placed, know as Jump Lists. For more details on the “Aero Peek” watch the demo bellow:

Earlier in our post we told you about the Windows 7 feature of how you can pinned your most frequently used programs on the Taskbar for you to easily access them. By default, when users move their mouse pointer over these pinned, you will be able to have a quick thumbnail preview of all the running programs. Some of the users may find this feature very useful as with this you can conveniently execute the program which you use frequently. But some users may find this feature uncomfortable and want to make it disable.

So if you are one the users who want to disable this feature from showing on the Taskbar, you can easily do this with the help of some simple configuration to the Local Group policy Editor.

With Windows 7 Local Group Policy editor you can disable/enable the pinning of programs to Taskbar in Windows 7 and can enable/prohibit the Taskbar to display pinned programs. You just need to follow few steps:

In the Local Group Policy Editor:

Go to “Users Configuration”

Then go to “Administrative Templates”

Then on the left pane “Start Menu and Taskbar”

Then on the right pane look for “Remove pinned programs from the Taskbar”

Right click it and from the shortcut menu which will be prompted select “Edit”.

A configuration window will be prompted in the “Remove pinned programs from the Taskbar”, click the “Enabled” item.

Once you select this, “Pinned Programs” list will be removed from the Taskbar.

Now you cannot pin programs anymore to the Taskbar.

Now you just need to click “OK” and continue.

Close the Local Group policy Editor and restart your computer to activate the settings.

Hey guys are you bored and want to get rid of receiving Windows Genuine Advantage warnings on your Windows XP operating system. You don’t need to worry at all, just follow these simple steps using a quick registry fix and you can get rid of the program and its pop-ups. But be very careful while following the instruction, else your PC can be in trouble.

Steps How to Remove Windows Genuine Advantage From the Registry:

Step 1:

First thing you need to do is to click on “Start” button and then click “Run” icon.

Step 2:

In Run dialog box type “regedit” and click OK.

Now your register editor program will appear.

Step 3:

Navigate the following registry file:"MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify."

You can easily find the key by:

1. Clicking “My Computer”

Then “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”

Then “Software” folder

Then “Microsoft folder”

Which will guide you to the “Windows NT” folder

Then go to “Current Version” folder

Then by “WinLogon”

And in last “Notify” folder

Step 4:

Inside the “Notify” folder find the “WgaLogon” folder and right click it.

From there choose “Delete” option and left click it.

The program files have now been removed from the registry.

Step 5:

Now to make the changes work, restart the computer, the program must have be removed from the registry by now.

Things that need to be remembered:

By following the above steps, only the program will be deleted from the registry, which will stop it from functioning and no more annoying pop-up. However it won’t delete the entire Windows Genuine Advantage.

Follow the steps carefully, I you don’t understand anything then it’s better to contact a PC support company for assistance instead of doing it yourself because deleting wrong files from the registry can lead to system failure.

To simply remove WGA from notification watch below video:

Before Windows 7, it was difficult to choose what you should and shouldn’t add in Windows system tray. It is something that shows the status icons for various system elements like volume etc and the program running in the background like your anti-virus software. Earlier it was uncommon to have so many icons littered down on the toolbar. But Microsoft has made it easy for you to choose what you want to see on the Windows System Tray.

How to show more icons in the Windows 7 System Tray:

First click the small white arrow on the left edge of the System Tray.

There you’ll see system/program icons that are not configured for full-time appearance in the tray.

Now, click Customize.

Here you’ll see a list of Notification Area Icons (in Windows 7 it is termed as “System Tray Stuff”).

Click the drop down shown in front of icons, it will show three choices:

Show icon and notifications

Hide icon and notifications

Only show notifications

These are very simple and easy steps to understand. The good thing about this is that, whatever changes that you will make will appear immediately in the system tray, for you to know how the icons will look like in the tray; it’s kind of a preview before finalizing the changes. Now you just need to click OK and changes will be made permanently until you change them manually again.

you can make changes as you wish like if you don’t want Windows 7 Action Center icon cluttered on the Tray but you wish to be notified if any issue appear: so for the set it to “Only Show Notification”. And for example if you want your printer’s icon to be shown on the tray then it’s good to set it to “Sow icon and notification”.

Everything is in your hand, you decide and choose what should be and shouldn’t be there on the System Tray.

Many a time’s changes made by Malware and spyware make your computer very slow. Which is very irritating quite some time, but now you can easily scan your computer using “Trend Micro HijackThis” it’s a freeware utility, it generates an in depth report of registry and file setting which helps you in removing needless changes from your computer.

It is a very useful firmware; HijackThis inspect the browser and OS setting of your computers and generate a log file of your computer’s current state. With this log you can manually select and remove unnecessary setting and file, you have to select it by yourself with extreme caution as Hijackthis log cannot distinguish between legitimate software and unwanted Malware.

You can easily download HijackThis from the licks given bellow:

Download HijackThis 2.0.2 Installer
Download HijackThis 2.0.2 Executable

Many a time’s windows ask for the password on shared folders on our home network. And it is the most common problem faced by many users when they make a home network using Windows Workgroup, and windows starts asking for the username and password but usually the user name is not asked and is set by default “ComputerNameGuest” and ask for password only and it’s the worst condition. No other passwords work on it and you are unable to logon.

There are so many reason for this password protection, there is very interesting way through which you can make disappear the guest login password. You just need to do is to make the guest account in the windows disable. In order to disable the guest account follow bellow step by step guide:

Step 1:

Go to Start

Step 2:

Click on “Run”

Step 3:

Then write compmgmt.msc in Run window

From left hand pane select

Step 4:

Expand “Local Users and Groups” tree.

Step 5:

Click on “Users”

Step 6:

On the right pane, you will see an option Guest, click it and go to its Properties. There you’ll see a check box option “Account is disables” check it.

Many people are facing difficulty in getting use-to with the new interface of Window, since the launch of Windows Vista. The locations of many settings have been changed and people find it difficult to locate setting, which are almost different from that in Windows XP.

This problem has now been solved by “Windows 7 in a Box”. Through this you can;

Find each and every tool and setting from within the Windows 7 in a Box.

Portable tool, no need to install it.

Can be run smoothly from anywhere, desktop, any folder, or USB

Designed to guide about the new operating system from Microsoft

Everything is on the placed Desktop

When we talk about everything on the desktop it includes:

Theme setting

Parental control

Free Spyware, Adware, and Malware

With all these placed in a box, everything is easy to navigate and finishes all the frustration caused in searching all the setting. Windows 7 in a Box does everything within seconds. Below is a screen shot of Windows 7 in a Box! Where different menus and lists in the menus are shown

Above is a screenshot of one of the list in the menu. Each and every menu consists of almost all the setting. Windows 7 in a Box is n excellent which can store all the setting in just one place which is easily accessible. You can download Windows 7 in a Box.

Windows 7 comes up with media player 12 (WMP12), in windows 7 the icons are replaced by button on taskbar, where as earlier in windows vista with windows media player 11 (WMP11), the windows media player toolbar could be minimized as mini toolbar. But that’s not the case in windows 7, it does not allow windows media player (WMP12) to minimize to mini toolbar in taskbar.

With this problem, many users switched to windows media player 11 as an alternative for window media player 12 in windows 7, just for the reason to get back the WMP toolbar in their taskbar. But now there is nothing to worry, Justin Buser has a solution for the windows 7 users to get back to the Windows Media Player toolbar for windows media player 12.

Let us now discuss how to re-enable Windows Media Player 12 toolbar in Taskbar of Windows 7, and also the mini toolbar for Windows Media Player 12. Unfortunately, WMP icon or button does not hidden and made disappeared from Windows 7 Taskbar to replace with just a mini toolbar, although the toolbar itself already comes with volume adjustment, backward, forward, pause, play and other controls. Thus, it makes the toolbar for WMP12 kind of redundant.

You have to do it manually by just following few steps;

The first thing you need to do is get a copy of wmpband.dll from windows vista, but it should be from same operating system (32-bit: wmpband-x86.zip and 64-bit: wmpband-x64.zip). This provides the functionality of WMP toolbar on Taskbar. Download them alternatively.

Then copy wmpband.dll into %ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Player\folder of windows 7 (with WMP12).

Then browse to

Control Panel

Then go to System and Security

After that to Administrative Tools

And then open Services panel

Since Windows XP, AutoPlay and AutoRun features are the most exposed areas usually exploited as a spreading mechanism by few malware in order to target unprotected computers. The function of AutoRun is to automatically start the program when any device like USB (storage tool), CD, Memory card etc in inserted in the computer. And AutoPlay is a Windows feature which allows the user to select from the options based on contents like pictures, music, video files etc which program they want to run, after examining any new removable device in the computer.

In order to address the users concern on this matter and to encourage their confidence, Redmond Company has introduced some influential changes in both the functions (AutoPlay and AutoRun) in Windows 7. The users of Windows 7 must have noticed by now that the AutoPlay feature no longer supports the AutoRun function for nay non-optical removable media. When the CD/DVD is inserted in the computer only then the AutoRun features works, and when a USB device is inserted the AutoRun won’t be initiated. With these changes in the Windows 7, Microsoft hopes that it will reduce the chances of spreading malicious program through AutoRun.
