With Aero Shake you can quickly and instantly minimize all the non-active open windows by just shaking the application window and fives the power in your hand. So if you are one the users who want to disable this feature from showing on the Taskbar, you can easily do this with the help of some simple configuration to the Local Group policy Editor.

With Windows 7 Local Group Policy editor you can disable/enable the pinning of programs to Taskbar in Windows 7 and can enable/prohibit the Taskbar to display pinned programs. You just need to follow few steps:

In the Local Group Policy Editor:

• Go to “Users Configuration”
• Then go to “Administrative Templates”
• Then on the left pane “Start Menu and Taskbar”
• Then on the right pane look for “Remove pinned programs from the Taskbar”
• Right click it and from the shortcut menu which will be prompted select “Edit”.
• A configuration window will be prompted in the “Remove pinned programs from the Taskbar”, click the “Enabled” item.
• Once you select this, “Pinned Programs” list will be removed from the Taskbar.
• Now you cannot pin programs anymore to the Taskbar.
• Now you just need to click “OK” and continue.
• Close the Local Group policy Editor and restart your computer to activate the settings.

The users of Windows 7, who don’t want the Aero Peek feature in Windows 7, can easily disable and turn off Aero Peek, by just following few steps:

Steps:

• First go to the Taskbar and right click on the blank space, then click properties.
• Then in the “Taskbar and Start menu” dialog box, check whether the Taskbar tab is selected or not, if not then select it.
• Then uncheck the “Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop” option.

• Now you just need to click Apply or Ok. All the settings will be applied.

Another way of turning off on turning on Aero Peek is through Show Desktop button bar, here is guide how to do it:

• On the right end of the Windows 7 Taskbar, right click on the Show Desktop small rectangle button.
• Then Click on Peek at desktop option, it will disable the Aero Peek.

Another Alternative way of doing it:

• First you need to go to “Control Panel”
• Then “System and Security”
• The System
• Then on the left pane click on “Advanced System settings” link.
• Now make sure that “system properties” dialog box is on “Advanced” tab.
• Now under “performance” button click “Settings” button.
• Now make sure that “Performance option” dialog box is on “Visual effects” tab.
• Now uncheck the “Enable Aero Peek” option.

Note: If no advanced configuration is customized the system will automatically select it to “Custom”.

• Now you just need to click Ok or Apply.

Steps How to Remove Windows Genuine Advantage From the Registry:

Step 1:

• First thing you need to do is to click on “Start” button and then click “Run” icon.

Step 2:

• In Run dialog box type “regedit” and click OK.
• Now your register editor program will appear.

Step 3:

• Navigate the following registry file:"MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify."
• You can easily find the key by:
• 1. Clicking “My Computer”
• Then “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”
• Then “Software” folder
• Then “Microsoft folder”
• Which will guide you to the “Windows NT” folder
• Then go to “Current Version” folder
• Then by “WinLogon”
• And in last “Notify” folder

Step 4:

• Inside the “Notify” folder find the “WgaLogon” folder and right click it.
• From there choose “Delete” option and left click it.
• The program files have now been removed from the registry.

Step 5:

• Now to make the changes work, restart the computer, the program must have be removed from the registry by now.

Things that need to be remembered:

• By following the above steps, only the program will be deleted from the registry, which will stop it from functioning and no more annoying pop-up. However it won’t delete the entire Windows Genuine Advantage.
• Follow the steps carefully, I you don’t understand anything then it’s better to contact a PC support company for assistance instead of doing it yourself because deleting wrong files from the registry can lead to system failure.

How to show more icons in the Windows 7 System Tray:

• First click the small white arrow on the left edge of the System Tray.
