How to Make Custom iPhone Ringtones for Free !

It’s always useful to familiar yourself with the tips and tricks which can save you money and you are here for the same purpose. right? The purpose to learn how to make the ring tones yourself instead of making a purchase. The process is quite simple and I would like to guide you step by step, so bear with me.

Step 1: Open up iTunes.

Step 2: Choose the song whose little portion you want to set as a ring tone. For example, I would like to cut a small portion of the song “Piece of Me” from Britney Spears.

Step 3: Play the song and note the start and stop times of the portion of the song which you want to take as a ring tone. In my case, I would like to make a ring tone from start point of 1:00 and end time of 1:40 i-e 40 seconds long ring tone.

Step 4: Right click the song and select “Get Info”

Step 5: Click the “Options” tab and set the start and stop time which you noted in step 3. Click ok.

Step 6: Right click the song again and this time select “Create AAC Version”. Wait some time while iTunes make a copy of the song from the given start and stop timings.

Step 7: Right click the ringtone and delete it. After that, click on the “Keep Files” button.

Step 8: Search the file, it is normally in the folder Music>>iTunes>>iTunes Music and under the band name of the song, the music file will have an extension of .m4a. Change it to .m4r. Double click the ringtone file and iTunes software will automatically add it to the ringtones folder.

Step 9: Sync the files with the phone and select your new ringtone from Settings>>Sounds>>RingTone.
