How to – On Network, Windows asks for password on shared folders

Many a time’s windows ask for the password on shared folders on our home network. And it is the most common problem faced by many users when they make a home network using Windows Workgroup, and windows starts asking for the username and password but usually the user name is not asked and is set by default “ComputerNameGuest” and ask for password only and it’s the worst condition. No other passwords work on it and you are unable to logon.

There are so many reason for this password protection, there is very interesting way through which you can make disappear the guest login password. You just need to do is to make the guest account in the windows disable. In order to disable the guest account follow bellow step by step guide:

Step 1:

Go to Start

Start_Menu

Step 2:

Click on “Run

Step 3:

Then write compmgmt.msc in Run window

From left hand pane select

Step 4:

Expand “Local Users and Groups” tree.

Step 5:

Click on “Users

Step 6:

On the right pane, you will see an option Guest, click it and go to its Properties. There you’ll see a check box option “Account is disables” check it.
